EVERO Engineering Pty Ltd (EVERO) has created a unique media van to help students gain experience in a media field.

EVERO was engaged to help fit out an ordinary Iveco Daily box van, to a cutting-edge multimedia mobile van equipped with state-of-the-art broadcasting capabilities and advanced technology.

The Digi Van was built to break barriers and support under-resourced communities, ensuring that every voice is heard. It will uncover local stories, shed light on crucial issues of young people, and showcase the remarkable talents within NSW regional communities.

Through the Digi Van program, participants will have the opportunity to learn a comprehensive suite of multimedia skills, including:

  • recording
  • mixing
  • filming
  • sound production
  • performance
  • live-streaming
  • iphoneography
  • videography.

The van will operate on the NSW Central Coast and North Sydney region, as part of the Not-For-Profit company The Skill Engineer Ltd, who also operates the highly successful Girls of Steel program at EVERO Wangaratta. EVERO is a cornerstone foundation supporter of the program.

“We are pleased to help create the Digi Van. The project will guide young people towards creative digital pathways and future employment opportunities,”  said Brendan Ritchens, Managing Director at EVERO.

“The Digi Van is a fully equipped multimedia mobile vehicle for youth, including ‘at-risk’ youth, First Nations people, and people with disabilities. The goal is to facilitate their economic, social, and civic inclusion through skill development. A value that sits closely with EVERO.”

Youth podcasting & media production

This initiative, which is coordinated by The Skill Engineer Ltd and made possible through the ‘Our Region, Our Voice – Regional Youth Investment Program NSW Government’ and Youth Opportunities grant, aims to provide tailored investments and local projects that enhance the lives and well-being of regional youth. The project is proudly supported by Blackmagic Design.

Inside the van will be a podcast studio, complete with comfortable lounge setup for up to four presenters, a director’s chair with livestream switch board setup and digital mixing desk. With thanks from our sponsor, Blackmagic Design, we will have two professional 4k film cameras and switching board for livestreaming podcasts.  All of this equipment will be capable of creating short films and social media content as well. The van will also be equipped with a PA system, flatscreen TV and large awning for outdoor events. We are really looking forward to maximising the capability of the van.” said Mike McCarthy, Creative Director at The Skill Engineer.

We will be running The MobPod podcast in schools across the Central Coast in Terms 3 and 4 this year as well as Youth events, NAIDOC Week and other special Youth based programs. Schools will also have the option to use the van for their Yr 11 and 12 Entertainment and IDT Work Placement students.
